Pranab Mukherjee passed away: Former President Pranab Mukherjee died at the age of 84, hospitalized in Delhi

Former President Pranab Mukherjee died on Monday at the age of 84. He was ill for a long time and was hospitalized in Delhi. Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijeet Mukherjee tweeted the death of the former president.

Abhijeet Mukherjee tweeted, ‘I am heartily informing you that my father Mr. Pranab Mukherjee’s R.R. The hospital has died despite the best efforts of doctors and the prayers of people from all over the country. I thank all of you with folded hands. ‘

Prominent personalities including President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi have mourned the death of Pranab Mukherjee. President Ramnath Kovind tweeted, ‘Heartbroken after hearing about the exile of former President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. His death is the end of an era. I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends and all the countrymen of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. ‘

He further wrote, ‘As the first citizen of India, he made conscious efforts to connect with people and increase people’s proximity to Rashtrapati Bhavan. He opened the doors of Rashtrapati Bhavan to the public. His decision to end the circulation of the word ‘His Majesty’ to the President is historic. ‘

Earlier, Pranab Mukherjee’s health deteriorated further. The hospital had said that his health had declined as he suffered septic shock due to a lung infection. Septic shock is a serious condition in which blood pressure stops functioning and body parts fail to get enough oxygen.

The Army Research and Referral Hospital had said that the doctors treating 84-year-old Mukherjee said he was in a deep coma and on ventilator. The former president was hospitalized here on August 10 and underwent brain surgery. Later, he also had an infection in his lungs.

The hospital had said in a statement, “Since yesterday, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee’s health has declined. He has had septic trauma due to a lung infection and is currently being treated by a team of specialists. He is still in a deep coma and on ventilator support. Mukherjee was the 13th President from 2012 to 2017.

Handled from foreign ministry to finance ministry

Pranab Mukherjee was the External Affairs Minister of India from 25 October 2006 to 23 May 2009. He was also the Finance Minister of the country from 24 January 2009 to May 2012. On 20 May 2009, he was elected for the second time to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Jangipur parliamentary seat. Pranab da resigned from the Indian National Congress Party on 25 June 2012 and was the 13th President of India from 2012 to 2017.
