IPL Schedule 2020: The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is to begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September. For a long time, franchise teams and fans were waiting for the IPL schedule. Finally the waiting clocks are over. A new schedule of IPL 2020 has been released. The first match is to be played between defending champions Mumbai Indians and runners-up Chennai Super Kings. 24 matches of IPL 2020 will be played in Dubai, 20 matches in Abu Dhabi and 12 matches in Sharjah. The schedule for league matches has just been released, while the schedule for playoff matches will be released later. The last league match to be played on November 3 will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

The IPL was earlier scheduled to be held in India from March 29. A schedule for this was also released. The IPL had to be postponed due to Kovid-19. The ICC T20 World Cup was to be played in Australia in October-November this year, but it was postponed due to Kovid-19. Following this ICC decision, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided that the IPL would be played between September 19 and November 10.

All eight franchise teams participating in this 53-day tournament have reached the UAE and are currently in practice. The IPL is to be played in the Bio Secure Environment this time. The BCCI also handed over SOPs to all the teams before leaving for UAE. All matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
