Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, admitted to a private hospital for treatment of Kovid-19, was discharged from the hospital after he was freed. Siddaramaiah’s office gave this information in a statement on Thursday (August 13). Siddaramaiah’s son and Congress MLA from Varuna, Dr. Yatindra Siddaramaiah, was also discharged from the hospital, who was found infected on August 7.
The statement said that he was discharged from the hospital after the second investigation report was also negative. The statement said that on August 3, Siddaramaiah was admitted for the treatment of urinary infections. Later he was also confirmed to be infected with Corona virus. Now 72-year-old leaders will rest for a week at home according to doctors’ advice.
The Leader of the Opposition thanked the doctors and medical staff who treated and cared for him at Manipal Hospital for the last 10 days. The statement said that the former chief minister also thanked the people of the state and others who wished him a quick recovery.
Dr. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Hospital, said that Siddaramaiah was under the supervision of a specialist team of doctors. “We are happy to say that the report of his Kovid investigation has come back negative and after recovering, he has been discharged this evening,” he said in a statement. Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa was discharged on Monday (August 10) after his treatment. He is currently in isolation at home.
