In the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the global epidemic corona virus ‘Kovid-19’ has continued to worsen and 119 people have died in the state during the last 24 hours, the highest number of deaths a day so far. A record 5880 new cases of corona virus have also been reported in the state, after which the total number of infected people reached 2,85,024 as of Friday (7 August).
More than 100 people have died in the state for the last five consecutive days, while the first case of corona infection was reported in the state in March. The Health Department said that out of 1119 deaths in the last 24 hours, 78 patients have died in government hospitals, while 41 have lost their lives in private hospitals.
Out of 5880 new cases registered in the state, 5856 cases have come from contact with infected persons, while 24 cases have been found in people from outside the state. Following these new cases, the number of active cases in Tamil Nadu rose sharply to 52,759. In the last 24 hours, 67,352 people were screened, which is the highest of samples tested during a single day.
So far, more than 30 lakh 30,88,066 people have been screened to be infected with Corona virus in the state. Apart from this, after recovering 6488 patients, they were discharged from hospitals and so far 2,27,575 people have defeated this deadly virus. The recovery rate in the state is 79.84 and the death rate is 1.64. It is a matter of relief that in Chennai, which has become the center of Corona Infections, Corona cases were reported one thousand less on Friday. On Friday, 984 cases were confirmed in the city, which together has 1,07,109 people infected.
