In a big development in the Ayodhya case, the Supreme Court asks all parties in the matter to try to complete argument by 18th October; Says, parties can still go for mediation if they want to.
Supreme Court has asked all the stakeholders to submit their estimate of tentative dates to finish their arguments. The Court expressed hope that that if all parties adhere to their deadlines, the hearing in the matter will be completed by October 18. The Apex court has further asked all parties to complete arguments by October 18.
The five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi also said that if parties are desirous of settling Ayodhya matter through mediation, they can do so.
The apex court added that proceedings before 3-member mediation panel headed by ex-SC judge F M I Kalifulla will remain confidential. It also said that simultaneously the mediation process can go along with the hearing in SC, and if an amicable settlement is reached through by it, the same can be filed before the SC.
