PM Narendra Modi releases Book titled ” Moving On, Moving Forward: A Year in Office ” on Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu’s one year in office; PM praises Vice President for his visionary leadership, discipline, and exemplary work; Vice President appeals to all political parties to transcend political considerations on issues of national importance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday released a book on experiences of M Venkaiah Naidu during his first year as Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
The 245-page book titled “Moving on…Moving forward: A year in office” brings out Vice Presidents’ “mission of engagement” on four key issues. These are huge untapped demographic dividend; An effective and enabling eco-system for remunerative farming in the country; Orienting scientific and research efforts to better the lives of our people and Enhancing public awareness about rich Indian heritage and inculcating national pride in our pluralistic, inclusive, harmonious world view.
The book release function was attended by former prime minsiters, Dr. Manmohan Singh and HD Deve Gowda, besides other dignitaries.
Prime Minister Narendar Modi said that Vice President M. Venkaih Naidu has always provided visionary leadership. PM added that, being a well-deciplined person, Venkaih Naidu gets the best experts to ensure justice is done to the work assigned.
Prime Minister also said that Vice President M Venkaih Naidu is a farmer at heart and is committed to their welfare. He also shared other inspiring instances from Venkaih Naidu’s long career in public service.
Vice President of M Venkaiah Naidu expressed happiness over passage of bill granting constitutional status to the OBC commission during recenlty concluded monsoon session of parliament. Naidu said that this reflected govt’s committment towards social justice. He also appealed to all political parties to transcend political considerations on issues of national importance.
Vice President also said that sustained efforts must be made to support agricuture sector. He added that we must make an effort to avoid our dependency on imported foods and, instead, we must fous on home-grown food.
Vice President also expressed happiness over the fact that girls in the country are doing exceptionally well in various fields including education. He noted that more needs to be done for empowerment of women.

Finance MInister Arun Jaitley said that Vice President M Venkaih has been advocating to develop consensus on several key issues, especially issues related to development and security. Besides, Naidu ji also made constant efforts to raise the standard of public discourse.
